Cricket Victoria today announced the DEC Spirit squad to compete in this weekend's WNCL round in Tasmania. 13 players will travel to Hobart this evening to take on the Cripps Tasmanian Roar in two Twenty20s and a WNCL 50-over match. Returning from injury and back into the Spirit line up will be Julie Hunter and Kristen Beams. With Tasmania currently sitting in the sixth position on the WNCL table the third placed Spirit have an opportunity to dominate and lock in some wins. 'Provided the rain stays away and we stick to our game plan, we have heaps of time to get back in the mix,' said Spirit Head Coach, Cathryn Fitzpatrick. The Spirit have not had the most successful season thus far due to poor weather. 'It's challenging because the girls have been training hard and have not been able to play because of rain,' said Fitzpatrick. All three matches are must wins for the Spirit to have any chance at making the finals. With possible showers forecast for the weekend in Tasmania, the girls will be hoping that the rain stays away.
