Junior makes stunning debut

Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit star Elyse Villani has made a stunning debut for Staffordshire in the English County competition by striking an unbeaten century.

Having departed for the UK last week, Villani showed no signs of jet lag as she crushed 129 from just 72 deliveries including 26 boundaries and a six.

The sparkling knock guiding her side to a six-wicket victory over Devon in the second division clash, with an incredible 27 overs in hand.

Batting alongside English international and VicSpirit teammate Danni Wyatt, the pair put on 85 for the second wicket before the latter fell for 24 from 22 balls including four boundaries.

There would be no stopping Villani, however, as the 22-year-old hammered the Devon attack during a brutal assualt.

Following the incredible knock, Wyatt took to Twitter to shine some light on Villani's display.

"Oh my dayz one of the best innings I've ever seen off @ElyseVillani 129* off 72 balls. Knocked off Devons 188 in 22 overs (sic)! Come on staffs!!" @Danni_Wyatt tweeted.

Despite boasting limited experience in England, having only trained briefly in Taunton with the Australian side, Villani looked more than comfortable in the middle, but did cough up 16 from her one and only over with the ball.

Wyatt was the pick of the Staffordshire bowlers with 2-21 from 10.

"Had a very fun first game with the staffs girls! Good win Vs Devon, onto next weekend!" Villani tweeted.
