Victoria's long standing rivalry with NSW will be showcased this weekend on the hallowed turf of the MCG when the DEC Spirit takes on the NSW Breakers. The three matches, consisting of two Twenty20s and a WNCL clash, will see a heated battle in the rematch of both the women's finals from last season. The DEC Spirit has named an unchanged line-up after a strong performance last week that resulted in a 10-run win in their Twenty20 fixture against the Western Fury in Geelong. Rain resulted in low scores from both teams with the Spirit bowling out the Fury for 33. Annie Maloney starred with the ball taking 2 for 6 in one over and a knock of 11 from Sarah Elliot supported by an unbeaten 10 from the skipper Rachael Haynes led the Spirit to victory. The Breakers are also in hot form after a convincing 81-run win in their last Twenty20 campaign against the Queensland Fire. Spinner Lisa Sthalekar will be one for the Vics to watch after snaring 2 for 12 against the Fire, whilst Leah Poulton (75) and Sarah Coyte (55) are both coming off half centuries. Victoria and New South Wales are the two premier teams of the women's competition with the Spirit claiming the inaugural Twenty20 trophy last season, whilst the Breakers secured their fifth WNCL title, pipping the Spirit in the final. NSW is currently sitting in first place on both the Twenty20 and WNCL scoreboards but are only one win ahead of the Spirit in both forms of the game. The first T20 match commences at 3pm on Friday 12th November, the WNCL clash at 10am on Saturday with the series concluding with another T20 at 10am on Sunday.
