Bio: A knee injury threatened to derail the Smith’s 2008/09 season, but the opening bowler was diligent with her rehab and played through the pain to miss only one WNCL match for the year. She captured nine wickets for the season at an average of 25 and held down her end with a good economy rate of 3.42 runs an over. Smith clocked up her 100th WNCL match last season and with three big retirements during the break, the former Southern Star’s presence around the young group will be invaluable.
