King impressed VicSpirit coaching staff with her leg-spin when she played in some trial matches with the side prior to the 2011-12 season.
That form continued with her club side Dandenong when she took 14 wickets in 11 matches and with Victoria in the Under-18 championships with another 12 wickets at an average of 15.58.
King captained the Victorian side at the 2010-11 Under-15 National Championships.
She also travelled to England last year with the "Cricket Without Borders" under-18 team.
