A charismatic medium-pacer who was a regular in the VicSpirit's Twenty20 side last year, Hempenstall is a favourite in the dressing room with her bright personality.
She played nine Twenty20s and it was a sign of the improvement in her bowling that she opened the attack in the Final. She has now spent two full seasons in the Victorian squad and will be looking to take advantage of more opportunities with the ball.
In 2009-10, Hempenstall won the Bowling award for best average in Premier Firsts Essteele Cup. The Brunswick Park player claimed 16 wickets at an average of just 12.56 and was also named in the Premier Firsts Team of the Year. Last season she averaged 22.22 with the ball and captured nine wickets.
